In my last visits to Cadiz, I've seen on the street. Now is a little battered and with some lameness. The years do not go in vain. Not even for one day who was a famous national boxer.
This, friends, Kid Bitumen. A man that all children of Cadiz have known and wanted to see on the street, at parties, during Carnival, Easter. Bitumen is because Kid was one of the sellers of sweets and lollipops of Havana's most famous Cádiz. As appeared with its white sugar gender throne, a piarón of kids so we surrounded to buy our coveted prize for standing long hours to see a procession or hear a chorus of Carnival.
Kid is part of the starry sky of people (and characters in the most affectionate sense of the word) that populate our streets and still be seen.
hope that for many years.
NOTE: The photo is from the collection of Adolfo Gonzalez and I have drawn from http://www.memoriadecadiz.es/ , page I encourage you to visit it, since it is a photographic reference to modern history of our city.
